I dropped Rings of Power immediately after watching the first episode.
It had that “Hollywood exec writes a Tolkien fanfic” vibe.
Not sure why they are bothering after churning out two awful seasons so far.
Because they know that die-hard middle-earth fans want something to watch that’s middle-earth related since the LOTR movies and Hobbit movies have long been done. Least until they decide to reboot both of them like 20 or more years down the line.
Something something sunk cost fallacy.
Season 2 was much better IMO, though that’s just that*: my opinion lol
The source material was already gonna be a clusterfuck to deal with, and they are doing “OK” interpreting.
Edit: spelling
We started the first season. But kept forgetting to keep watching it. Now we cancelled prime. Maybe some day we will watch it all.
Yeah that’s exactly how I tried approaching it. I wanted to watch Fallout, Rings of Power and something else. But, before I could ever do, I just end my Prime subscription.
Mine just ended in September. I plan on buying a month subscription to watch the Mighty Nein cartoon, but Amazon is no longer getting the yearly fee out of me.
I distinctly remember this being cancelled…
Maybe you’re thinking of The Wheel of Time?
And nothing of value was lost. As someone who has read that series front to back 4 times, I hated how that show tried to make WoT into fucking grimdark.
I’m sorry for you. But I have to say I enjoyed S1 as a non-reader. Didn’t bother with S2 as it was cancelled before getting to it.
Fair enough. If you haven’t read the books then I’ve heard it’s a fine enough show. I should have written “nothing of value to me was lost.”
Gave up a few episodes into season 2
The slop must continue until profits improve
Pretty much the motto of most streaming channels these days.
