This is in the Southern California area.
- if you see someone stealing food, no you didn’t.
- Gonna make sure you and your family starve… - Disgusting. This country is a disgrace.
- Hey everyone, just a reminder, what with the upcoming SNAP stoppages: if you see someone shoplifting some food… you didn’t see anything. - Recently I saw a really old worn out pair of adult and kids shoes on the rack at wm. Made me kinda sad to be honest.
- I think that’s a general rule. Bruh your shoplifting food clearly you need it

- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bread_and_circuses - There goes the bread. How’s everyone’s Netflix subscription doing? Still affordable? - honestly, sometimes I wonder of “bread and circus” was a good policy hated by senators who hates the idea of feeding the public. - I sure would love if there was actually bread and circus
- Still affordable? - The content keeps getting worse. It’s like shrinkflation.
- Dropping like dominos

- The works of the roots of the vines, of the trees, must be destroyed to keep up the price, and this is the saddest, bitterest thing of all. Carloads of oranges dumped on the ground. The people came for miles to take the fruit, but this could not be. How would they buy oranges at twenty cents a dozen if they could drive out and pick them up? And men with hoses squirt kerosene on the oranges, and they are angry at the crime, angry at the people who have come to take the fruit. A million people hungry, needing the fruit- and kerosene sprayed over the golden mountains. And the smell of rot fills the country. Burn coffee for fuel in the ships. Burn corn to keep warm, it makes a hot fire. Dump potatoes in the rivers and place guards along the banks to keep the hungry people from fishing them out. Slaughter the pigs and bury them, and let the putrescence drip down into the earth. - There is a crime here that goes beyond denunciation. There is a sorrow here that weeping cannot symbolize. There is a failure here that topples all our success. - My American history is not great, what did end the great depression? Because the grapes of wrath must be pretty damn ripe now. - Combination of massive work projects like building roads, and WWII… - And this time around the hundreds of billions of dollars of infrastructure spending got cancelled in the last few months, so ……
- aka, massive and sustained government spending

- Why bother a grocery store? Not advocating for anyone to break into a Republican Congress person’s house, but I’m sure their pantry is going to be plenty stocked while this is going on. Maybe knock on their door and ask. Doesn’t matter when. Day or night. Right after they told you no. Whenever. I’m sure they’ll share what they have /s - Also just /s, but I bet there are many, many, many secondary, 3rd, 4th, 5th, etc. houses that they have that are sitting empty most of the year, in remote areas, but have well-stocked freezers and shelf-stable things…

- It’s a good time to have sour dough starter and farmers cheese. Greek yogurt can be made in an instant pot and granola is easy to make from Aldi oatmeal. - It’s a good time to get chest freezer or get into canning. Start growing some seedlings in February. I mean if your not working then at least you could focus on saving money. Just giving some ideas for whoever needs it.
