I’m pretty sure there is. If my phone is stolen, for instance, I can wipe it from my computer, presumably as long as it’s not been placed in a ‘Faraday cage’. In iOS there is a FindMy app which has an ‘erase’ function. I don’t know other phone OS’, but it sure seems that would be handy. And my Androidy friends would never let on that their OS wasn’t as cool or cooler than iOS. ;-)
New Rule: Don’t bring your phone data with you as you cross borders. Wipe it, and reinstall when you get to the other side.

GrapheneOS has this. Duress passcode. Type in the code and it wipes everything and shuts the phone down.
