The issue has been a longstanding concern among some followers of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the nation’s top health official, but the idea gained traction with Mr. Trump’s remarks.
Paxton’s in a heated primary with Cornyn over his Senate seat, so this could all just be about getting his name in the headlines on the eve of an ugly primary fight.
