Doug Ford and his supporters talk about “the war on cars”. So on one side of this war we have cars. Who’s on the other side of this war? I think it’s a war between cars and people and unfortunately Doug is fighting on the cars side against people.
sigh…fuck cars…they are never going to go away. Listen I’m not allowed to drive and rely on public transit, and wish there was more investment in that, but going around saying “fuck cars” is not going to fly with like 99% of people.
Just like the media these days the community is labeled that way to get someone angry and engage with it, then through that engagement hopefully they can see the bigger picture. The vast majority of that community is not a “ban every car from every square inch of a city” extreme, we just want to see other methods of transportation get even a fraction of the attention and funds cars do. We also want to clear up misinformation and disinformation often spread through car/oil lobbies and governments, or in Canada’s case a business lobby desperately trying to shoot itself in the foot for some short term profits.
