yea people hated the first season, then protested and refused to watch the rest of it, plus pirating movies/shows was just taking off back then. plus MGM was having so much financial trouble too.
in hindsight, according to the showrunners/writers, who did ama on sg subreddit. they said season 3 was going to have some interesting storylines. planetbuilder arc, and the mysterious drone creators, was suppose to be one of the novus colonies, that developed advanced technology centuries ago, which made sense since they alluded to destiny being tracked, and blockaded so easily in season 2.(the novus colony wanted destiny for themselves).
