Ow.
I love that Skelator is slowly coming into his own as a low key voice of reason. Or is this the Overton Window?
Fuck, I wish I had this at a job I absolutely hated with the motto “move fast and break things”
It would be quite a good motto, if the places that have it tended to actually support the "and break things’ part by providing safety nets and the time and resources to learn from mistakes. Instead, critical errors happen and no one has a plan on how to fix them.
But then what would be the point of breaking them?
I got let go after telling my boss I wouldn’t open a new DB connection per request in our API. No pooling, he wanted me to dial a new connection every request. I had more dignity than that.
mygosh this is so real…
iguess as a business owner - it doesnt feel sensible to have ur workers play around with a concept before actually making a thing… but usually thats cool! and fun! and makes peeps kno mor bout the subject!
