It’s like a guy running out onto the deck of the Titanic every few minutes and shouting “We’ve got new novel research indicating how there aren’t enough lifeboats and the water is extremely cold”.
Part of the old school environmentalist movement was this theory of activism and engagement with the body politic. The idea was that you could actually form parties and join organizations and leverage time and money to avert pending ecological hazards.
But this shit is just… “Scientists have created a new kind of bar chart to explain that the future is bleak”. Which is both demoralizing and pointless. It’s information without a purpose. Like ringing a fire alarm in an oubliette.
