The US air force could easily destroy the country if the President so chose, and I think he’d pick that over losing because the navy got repelled.

People need to stop believing the US is god. There’s no fucking way it could “easily destroy the entire country” with anything short of a massive nuclear barrage. Why didn’t they easily destroy Vietnam or Afghanistan?

I get in this argument all the time with normies lol. When talking about a potential Iran invasion people say the same thing.

I don’t think Iran is remotely comparable. Obviously the US would not exactly be favored against Iran, but Iran is incomparably more militarily capable (except for their letting high-ranking personnel get assassinated left and right, I guess) as well as a harder target for geographic reasons.

Plus, Venezuela has large swathes of its population organized into People’s militias, trained and organized by the Communes.

Venezuelan Socialism, for all of its faults, is an actual thing people are motivated to defend. Unlike, for instance, the moribund husk that was Ba’athism in Iraq, which got easily toppled.

They’ve destroyed so many countries, and if they don’t actually care about what happens with the rubble then that gives them much more leeway than they had with a country like Afghanistan, which they already did do a great deal of damage to. Venezuela is already struggling due to the years of blockades.
