It sounds like there are more doctors moving from the US to Canada, but not a huge number. The numbers are up from last year, but not by a lot.
It would be interesting to know if Canadian healthcare workers are still moving to the US in a big way, but the article doesn’t explore that.
Dentists are another example.
If you are moving from another country, Canada requires you complete all course from scratch. There’s no “certification test”. This means qualified dentists need to go through all course from the beginning and pay all the fees.
We then have qualified dentists in most cases working as hygenists or in unrelated fields as a result.
I can say that at least in the case of primary and specialty medical care, so long as you went to a licensed medical school, it doesn’t seem to be the case in Ontario or Nova Scotia.
