I know I’ll get downvoted, but Obama really accelerated this with the cruise missile and drone strikes during his tenure. Yes, yes, Trump is infinitely worse, but Dems handed Trump the tools instead of dismantling them when they had the opportunity.
This seems a few levels beyond the drone strikes. These boats from my understanding could’ve been stopped and were no match for the US Navy. Some of those drone targets were in the middle of no where. Here we have the current administration choosing to just murder a bunch of people on a boat while being able to use any number of non lethal solutions.
The current situation is the result of degradation of checks and balances and increasing presidential power since the cold war kicked off. Long time in the making unfortunately.
