Top Trump administration officials used Charlie Kirk’s podcast on Monday to threaten a governmental crackdown on left-wing organizations in the name of the slain conservative activist. Administration officials who appeared on the podcast, guest-hosted by Vice President JD Vance, made broad and unsubstantiated claims about their political opponents and alleged that liberal groups were responsible for Mr. Kirk’s death — even though investigators have said they believe that the suspect acted alone.

I read somewhere (possibly here?) That the US is heading towards their own version of The Troubles. I think it could be a likely scenario at this point.

I saw the movie civil war a while back, and I think it was one of the scariest films I’ve seen in quite some time.

Might have been me. I’ve been saying it for a while. We are not geographically divided enough for a civil war to look anything like the last one did. It can only look more like the Troubles.

Could have been! Yeah it’s…not looking great. I hope things can get to a better place without going down that route

Hmm yeah I mean if push comes to shove, you can’t give in under a fascist regime. People have to stay strong.

I just keep hoping something causes them to crumble from within and leads to something with less chaos.

i think that would be trumps death. there is no named successor. he feels like a stick thats keeping the pasta water from boiling over. theres soo much infighting, theres even been physical fights. kirk might have been a possible choice. he pretended to be an intellectual MAGA, courted the extremist and gave the moderate MAGA talking points to hide behind. now due to current events, he cant be a successor.
