This was a dumb thing. Kirk was odious, sure, but of all the people to shoot…They didn’t even take a major player off the board, and the repercussions, the retribution, will not be worth it.
My water heater started leaking over the weekend. It was only seven years old, but I suppose since the warranty was six years, I shouldn’t complain? Anyway, I installed my new water heater today, so I can shower again. This one has a 12-year warranty, it might out live me.
I just took a shower, I feel great. I’ll be going for a walk around sunset. It’s been a good day.
Some people I know are taking a dangerous amount of glee in this. Not dangerous in a “Oh he wasn’t that bad of a guy how dare you be happy about it” kind of way, but in a “You know people can see what you’re writing, right?” kind of way. The sort of stuff that would get you banned from sites or fired from your jobs.
By all means, be happy about it if you want to be, I know there are some specific minority groups out there that are cheering the house down at Kirk’s death, but be smart about it. Then again I probably don’t need to tell anyone on Lemmy this since privacy and anonymity are pretty key elements of the community.

From the audio, I would speculate that a suppressed weapon was used to shoot Kirk from his left at a fairly low trajectory. It does not appear that a hollow-point round was used, as this would have likely caused more damage at the entrance site, which was the left side of Kirk’s neck.
SOF personnel I have spoken with regarding the shooting estimate the shot may have been taken from roughly 200 meters away.
