Join us on Sept 12 at 6am PT for a Nintendo Direct! Tune in for roughly 60 minutes of information on upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch games.
After the wonderful design of the past two yoshi games, they go back to the old 2d style? It looks extremely outdated
Pretty good overall.
Bold to release Mario Galaxy 1+2 on Switch when they already released Galaxy 1 as part of a three pack for the 35th anniversary. I won’t be buying Galaxy 1 again just for some extra story book pages.
And yeah paid DLC for ZA before the game’s launch just feels extremely cheap. They’re essentially releasing two tiers of the game.

Good news: It looks like you can also buy them individually:

The good:
- Galaxy 1+2 remaster
- Prime 4 release date
- Hades 2 release date, and confirmation that it supports Switch 1
- New Fire Emblem
The bad:
- Nintendo getting more agressive with paid DLC… Bananza getting it 2 months after launch, and for Pokemon it’s pre-launch!
Yeah and the DLC for Bananza doesn’t look that interesting at all, other than whatever nostalgia factor there is in going back to DK Island.
I won’t be playing it on the Switch but I was nevertheless hyped to see the Hades 2 1.0 trailer!
I’m expecting Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 to be available on Switch somehow now that the title of the sequel movie has been announced…
You were right, they just announced it man
Yeah! And more coming! I’m already happy 😁
Maybe I missed this at some earlier date but I did not expect Samus on a motorcycle. 🤔
Pretty good Direct, as far as I am concerned. Many announcements that I am interested in, will have to sort through them later though.
Don’t care much about the new DLC for Donkey Kong Bananza though. Skull Island looks good, but not a fan of the roguelike mode.
I’m hoping for something new, old Pokemon and Animal Crossing ports, and Luigi’s Mansion release for the GCN classic library.
The bad:
- No Animal Crossing announcements AFAICT
I don’t think a “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” would convince me to spend $450 on one, but if it added a boatload more content, like what they did with Mario Wonder… I’d at least think about it. (I mean, I just got the Switch OLED last October, so it was never gonna be an easy sell.)
(Also worth noting that Animal Crossing is not hard coded to the Switch 1’s specs. Apparently on good computers, people have gotten it up to 8K, which is wild to me. But, that being said, the game does get benefits of running on Switch 2. Notably, if you go to a Treasure Island or if you happen to have an island that is equally dense with decorations, you don’t see pop-in and you don’t get frame drops. I think they showed it running at a stable 60FPS even on one of those show-off islands with something going on literally everywhere. And of course load screens are reduced since those are also not hard-coded and are tied to system performance.)
