I looked up Internet speed by country expecting to see Germany be in the top 25, because of their incredible engineering, then I see them at 56. That is shocking to me.
Over-engineering is dedicating a team of specialists to shaving off every last piece of material from a pneumatic hose, justified with endless computer simulations based on unrealistic assumptions like constant temperature throughout the year, then wondering why the hoses fail in less than a year in the real world.
