I’m asking because I got an update for steam today on my HT console that is running Bazzite OS and I checked the changelog, and some of the fixes pertained to some “non-deck” devices then they went on to list ROG Ally x and onexplayer… Etc. Is it now official? Does that mean I can now grab steamOS and install it on my onexplayer?

    Yes and no.

You now can install SteamOS on other handhelds, and Valve has started issuing fixes for those other devices.

That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s ready for use. Look up your device and see what’s working.

And it’s not like you lose out on anything by sticking with Bazzite.

I have a somewhat older onexplayer. Running an AMD APU 5700U. It already has bazzite, but I’ve been struggling with two issues on Bazzite: internet disables completely after it wakes up from suspend and only a reboot fixes it, and I mean not even an Ethernet cable is able to give me network. And the suspend and wake up is a torture, if it even wakes up (and when it does, internet is gone). I actually think the Internet dies because of the suspend issue. It feels like the device still thinks it’s asleep and doesn’t enable the internet, and sometimes I can’t even use the touchscreen. I’d have to force it off.
