I’m cool with getting an hour of entertainment from a game for every initial dollar I spend and 2 hours per dollar on everything I buy in game after that. But I don’t really play competitive games online either.

I know a lot of people probably won’t agree and it’s Lemmy, so at least 10% of the people reading this are instantly pissed I don’t exclusively play FOSS games. 🤷🏻😂

If there’s one thing I disagree with it’s your generalisation of Lemmy, unlike Reddit or other centralised social media, there is no overarching culture and ethos that you can sum up in one specific description. Because of its federated nature, you cannot predict the mentality of Lemmy users, every instance is its own thing, and there may be so many reasons why someone would use Lemmy

There aren’t anywhere near enough of us here for there not not be an “overarching culture and ethos”. There are few places on the Internet more ideologically consistent than this, frankly. Self-selection is a powerful force.
