In a telephone conversation with Emmanuel Macron, President of France, on Sunday evening for a second time in a row after Saturday call, President Masoud Pezeshkian lambastaed Washington for its attack on the nulcear sites in Iran earlier in the day amid its call for talks, saying that in the previous talks with the United States meidated by Oman, it used to say something different at the negotiating table than in practice.

He referred to ongoing US-backed Israeli aggression on Iran and said that “we have been attacked militarily and we have firmly defended ourselves. We have always declared that we are ready for talks and engagement within the framework of international laws. However, the other side has called for Iran’s surrender.”

“Our nation will not kneel down in the face of bullying and oppression. It is natural that it will respond to the aggression proportionately,” the Iranian president said, adding that, “It was the US that attacked us. What would you do if you were us? Naturally, they must receive a response for their aggression.”
