2 Months ago i decided to quit Windows 11 cold turkey. Started with PopOS - didnt like whatever DE i had, so i just switched entirely over to Kubuntu - where i had a ton of permission issues. Finally landed on EndeavorOS using KDE Plasma and WOW. Everything simply works. I’ve been on it for 6 weeks now and I absolutely love it.

Lots of options out there, and my reasons for moving around could have been solved other ways, but I’m happy where i landed. Everything is customized exactly the way i like it (for now) and it all runs smooth as lubed butter.

The community has been great, and with the advent of AI, almost any problem i have is easily fixed (though there haven’t been many).

EDIT - i realized i didn’t say anything about gaming but between heroic, steam, and wine, everything just WORKS! Only 1 problem i have is I cant get voice to work in Rocket League, because the Epic terms wont open. I can live with that!

EDIT 2 - I run this with an NVIDIA 4070 Ti Super and an Intel i7 12700k

I’ve got KDE Plasma on my laptop (Mint) and desktop/server (Debian). It’s SO NICE, it really is a fun DE to use. And while it definitely drains battery quicker, otherwise it runs smooth as anything else. Edit: actually, don’t quote me on the battery

Got any stats on the battery thing? Plasma is fairly low resources, my laptop is equal if bit better than gnome in that regard. Certainly better than windows.

I am not using Mint though.

One laptop Arch the other Fedora.

To be fair it’s a decade+ old refurbished MSI laptop, its battery isn’t amazing anymore no matter what. Just seems like when I’ve got it unplugged playing YouTube it drains quicker but I could be mistaken.
