This is sourced from a commentary on several hadiths Hadiths are the life the writings of the life that Prophet Muhammad had lived

They are used to distinguish what is right or wrong, and Hadiths by themselves can not be proven correct as many of them were written many years after Muhammad had died

These commentaries provide interpretations of what has been written by scholars within Hadiths, and these interpretations are often a common sore spot of debates

You’ll find many disagreements due to these interpretations, and you can actually see this in your source:

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

“With regard to dogs, there are three views among the scholars:

    1. – That they are tahir (pure), even their saliva . This is the view of Malik.
    1. – That they are najis (impure), even their hair. This is the view of al-Shafi’i and is one of the two views narrated from Ahmad.
    1. – Their hair is tahir but their saliva is najis. This is the view of Abu Haneefah and of Ahmad in the other report narrated from him.

The Qur’an itself represents every creation of god as equal and to treat them with kindness as if they were you

This is also why Eid Al Adha can also be interpreted as a festival of sacrifice of what is important, and not just animal sacrifice. You can sacrifice your money to provide food to the poor, your beloved possessions as a sacrifice because you lack the means to provide donations (Sadaqah)

You do not have to view Islam in a way where interpretation is impossible, in fact, it is very open ended and is a topic of discussion even a thousand years after

You yourself could even become an Islamic scholar by starting to read Qur’an translations and provide your own interpretations, that is halal to do, to search for a correct answer with what is provided to you, all knowledge at your hands, and halal to teach others about your interpretations that were honestly made, all in search of truth.
