This is just one of thousands of examples of immense disrespect. And his cult follows him along through everything.

I’m all seriousness, if you find this appealing, would you not be happier if you just move there? If you have no allegiance to this country, please be respectful, have some dignity, and don’t actively try to ruin it for the rest of us. Stop trying to sabotage this country by actively undermining it.

While that’s largely true, it also oversimplifies the realities of the conflict.

Without American aid the Russians wouldn’t have been able to repel the Germans nearly as effective as they did (if at all), and without D-day splitting the war into two fronts, Russian losses on the way to Berlin would’ve been significantly higher.

That all said, Trump’s statement is obviously horseshit and a complete disservice to the rest of all the allied forces.

Exactly. Every nation gave something. The USSR gave immense amounts of life, the British gave intelligence, the Americans gave industrial capacity, the Canadians, Australians, and New Zealish gave a courage that they rarely are credited for, many British colonies gave enough to be able to leverage it in their pushes for sovereignty, the occupied nations and surviving German and Italian antifascists gave their resistance, intelligence, and worked to keep victims safe.

No nation beat the axis alone. Each combatant gave enough lives to hurt. Each nation gave enough money that the civilians felt the pain. And each nation had both fascists and antifascists in it. When we focus on who did most we open the door to nationalistic thinking when the lesson we should take is an internationalist one
