I think it probably works across instances, more likely it’s whatever app they’re using that doesn’t implement it properly. Many apps are also still failing to implement the instance agnostic links, eg /c/baldurs_gate_3@lemmy.world should be a link to this community from within the viewer’s instance.
Ah damn, it works wonderfully on my instance. I’ve figured, that this does not work properly on all instances :-(
