That’s what’s gonna happen isn’t it. If dems are allowed to win the next election, their choice will be a neolib with no political will to reverse even the most minor changes under Trump.

All those people rotting in El Salvador? Out of our jurisdiction, but we’ll be really mad about it around election season(s) until the last inmates are dead.

USAID and Dept of Education? All the fired civil servants? Sorry, we inherited a bad economy from Trump so we can’t afford to undo anything.

Vaccination programs slashed? Bird flu preparedness? We saw how well Biden worked on these.

ICE rounding up kids in the street? Look, we can’t afford to litigate the immigration issue before we control the House/senate!

Global war? We must continue Trump’s policy of pursuing maximum pressure against our enemies, we can’t turn back now.

Like I know this is also the point and Dems don’t actually want to undo Trump’s evil but everyone else on earth has to live with that reality until enough people get hungry for a real revolution.

It will take a while for people to be hungry enough for a real revolution to…though trump seems to be speed running the deterioration of material conditions. But there is also a dearth of good political education and a torrent of red scare propaganda. Hopefully peoples minds can change quick

If we look back at George Floyd, although the uprising was quelled and dems stole all the momentum and proceeded to double down on the police state, there are some positives. The main positive for me was how quickly public sentiment shifted. People I didn’t expect were suddenly admitting that structural racism is a problem (including my father who voted for trump in 2016) and even a lot of people open to the idea of defunding the police. I hope that public sentiment can surprise us with how radical it can turn especially fueled by an ungodly cost of living crisis that trump seems to be hell bent on unleashing. Just look at the response to Luigi, people intuitively understand the concept of social murder and can be radical when things are that fucked up.
