Your comment reminds me of something I was thinking this morning, which is that the US is becoming a lot like Russia. Military power. Keen to invade other countries and flout international law. Oligarchs run everything. Everyday people becoming poorer and less powerful. Country is increasingly detested by other nations and their populaces
While you are repeating what you read, it is disinformation towards Russia. Putin is hated by west because he reigned in oligarchy. He is defending nation from NATO/US proxy war with a highly paid volunteer army that has resulted in high wages everywhere in Russia. The west’s failed war directly made its people poorer, and stolen from, as yet another failed perpetual war project to sustain weapons and oil profits. The US has always been the US. We can only hope Canada defends itself as well as Russia has.
I hate Putin for his illegal invasion of Ukraine and all the suffering that has caused
(edit: and his very anti-LGBT+ policies. There may be more I should hate him for, but I’m not that informed. My main point is that I can articulate reasonable and rational hatred for Putin without invoking propaganda or conspiracy theories)
Not a crime to be/do gay in Russia. They could be more progressive in allowing gay marriage. Pride parades and activism is illegal, but that is just being insufficiently pro gay to your liking. Path to getting gay marriage legal in Russia, is a matter of asking it as a friend. Same with global warming. The big falsehood promoting the war is that Russia is not defending itself and (the right) Ukrainians from provocation and propaganda of the reverse.
I felt there was some value in not blocking you to see your geopolitical posts. I thought there was like 1 interesting idea in there for every 10 ones of (very) questionable veracity. But I draw the line at normalizing hate. Idk if you’re a moron, or you just play one (edit for less ableism: stupid or just pretend to be) on social media; ie, do you produce misinformation or disinformation?
Your wikilink says exactly what I did. US government is moving towards Russian government attitude. That general culture is not tolerant is not your cue to force Islamic countries to convince their women of lipstick and miniskirts attire. Freedom is awesome, but our only purpose for trying to infect liberalism in foreign countries is as a vector for CIA sponsored revolution and destruction of those countries. A genuine path for gay marriage equality in Russia is to renounce war on it, and advocating it for the love of Russians. That is the polar opposite of your hatred first, reasons 2nd, support for diminishing Russia.
