I’m an Ontario resident, and I had been planing a trip to Alaska. For obvious reason, I’m re-routing to BC for glacier.
I have several doubts about this trip:
- As a first-time traveller for glacier, which park/route do you suggest?
- I’m not a fan of hiking. Can I stay on the driveway?
- I’m planning a 5-day trip. Is it too short?
Thank you!
Glacier national park (the Canadian one) Banff/jasper Icefields parkway
All are spectacular, all are close to each other, and can be enjoyed from the vehicle/a short walk if thats your thing.
Depending on when you plan to travel, some roads/parking areas may be closed. They start to open in April, generally.
Five days is probably fine, especially if you aren’t into hiking and just plan on driving.
Thank you bearish!
I’d fly to Calgary, rent a car, and drive to Glacier National Park. If time permits, I’d also visit Banff National Park
Johnston Canyon is a good stop near Banff if you don’t mind hiking for a few hours.
