So I just joined from the DNDmemes reddit and love what is going on, but am new to Lemmy and it is not obvious to find out that this is even an instance of Lemmy.
I moved over to Mastodon from Twitter last year and saw how hard it was for many to understand what was going on, with the many instances Can we have a pinned post to explain what this exactly is and how people can access it from an app on their phones?
There’s a post here that has a bunch of info about lemmy. https://ttrpg.network/post/13
Is there something else you’re looking for a how-to on?
Perhaps pin that post to the top so it’s readily visible to newcomers? Can you pin something to the community, so it shows up for new folks join? And I know Lemmy calls it “featured” instead of “pinned” but it still uses an icon of a pin.
I can pin it either to the community (pinned to the top of the /c/ community) or locally (pinned to the top of all views on this instance), yeah.
Well it lacks any guidance about how to access it via mobile. As someone who only visited Reddit via my app, Lemmy is failing to fill that niche without any iOS app. It would be useful to pin that intro and also post about how to get an app installed and working (but from what I can tell, for iOS it can only be done via TestFlight).
Unfortunately, i don’t use iOS or have any knowledge in that domain to speak towards apps or anything. Not sure if anyone else here does.
Looks like an app called memmy released today on the iOS app store
