Amid a deluge of executive actions, the Trump administration has directed federal health agencies to pause external communications, such as regular scientific reports, updates to websites and health advisories, according to sources within the agencies.
So this is only until Feb 1 atm and makes exceptions for communications “critical for health.” Which seems to mean things requiring immediate action - such as the FDA releasing info about an allergic reaction in a certain medication today. Regular reports are paused though.
Of course this was all explained in a later memo, while in the original guidance the pause was of an indeterminate length. Definitely has had a chilling effect, a lot of public health people are up in arms about this.
