I really do think they never expected someone like Brian Thompson to get clapped and it’s breaking their brains to an extent
I’m convinced that this is why the American government response to 9/11 was a panicked lashing-out. Wealthy Americans were attacked directly on their home soil. It disproportionately killed the sorts of people who have the wealth and connections to work on upper floors of office towers with expensive leases.
They are also scared because the guy who did it was one of their own a “golden boy” from a “good family” and with a “nice job”. They cant really sell the whole “oh look at that deranged addicted poor.”

That and the pentagon. IIRC there was an over representation of MIC companies in the trash centers as well.
