Well, technically, Nintendo’s first party games hold there their price because Nintendo never lowers or discounts their games. I recently looked at Deku Deals (a price tracking website for games across all platforms), and none of the Nintendo’s first party games on the eShop I looked at had any discounts since late 2024. For example, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Nintendo Switch release title, 2017) originally released at €70 is still sold at €70, and last discount at eShop was summer 2024.

Actually, they did cut open the reactor building. CANDU is a unique type of nuclear reactor in that it uses unenriched natural uranium. It uses a heavy water loop, which is heated by the reactor core (heavy water acts as the moderator). The heat from the heavy water loop is transferred to a light water loop in a steam generator. The generated steam is sent to another building where a turbine turns it into electricity. They replaced those steam generators, which are housed in the reactor building.

This is something people should consider when they compare prices between game consoles and PC. A game console might cost, say, 500, which might sound cheap in comparison. But, if you want to play online, you need a subscription. Let’s say 100 per year, and assume 7 year lifetime for console, cost you another 700. If you buy games as digital copies, they’ll be about 60 to 80 each, and they are rarely discounted. And when they are, it’s probably -10%. Assume you buy 10 games for the console, and it’s another 600 or so. Total price for the “cheap” console is thus about 1800.

Steam Machine costs about 1000, but as there are no subscriptions, the remaining 800 can go to games. But, for PC there are numerous places to get games. Also discounts are frequent and can be up to -100%. You can turn that 800 into a game library far larger than 10 games.

And then there’s compatibility. Games and accessories you buy for one console might not be compatible with the next console you buy. Games and (some of the) accessories you purchase for one PC, on the other hand, are compatible with the next PC you purchase, regardless if it’s a desktop, laptop, media PC or handheld.

Touch Bar works, but can be a bit finicky. For example, it might work properly after reboot. Put the Mac to sleep, and after wake the Touch Bar has lost part of its functionality.

There’s a new yet-to-be-released project that significantly improves the Touch Bar experience. It lets you display basically anything you want on the Touch Bar. System monitor, weather widgets, games, etc. It even has support for application specific controls. They might publicly release it within the next few days.

T2 Macs are a flavor of Intel (x86) Macs, and they require T2Linux flavor of Linux.

Just a quick heads up for those planning on installing Linux on their Mac. There are about three types of Macs: Intel Macs, T2 Macs and Apple Silicon Macs.

• Linux should work fine on Intel Macs, but some people at least seem to have problems with the Touch Bar.
• T2 Macs are a flavor of Intel Macs. If your Mac has T2 chip, you must use T2Linux flavor of your distro. The overall experience might not be perfectly smooth, expect some issues with at least Touch Bar, suspend and connectivity. Some fixes should arrive later this year, as far as I know.
• Asahi Linux currently supports M1 and M2 Macs. M3 and M4 are unsupported.

At least check the T2Linux wiki. On T2 Macs, certain modules needs to be loaded in specific order for the TouchBar to work. https://wiki.t2linux.org/guides/postinstall/

If it’s T2 Mac, you should use T2Linux. If it’s a non-T2 TouchBar Mac… Maybe something in the T2Linux wiki helps? At least on T2 Macs, certain modules needs to be loaded in specific order, or the TB won’t work.
