I am not sure what to think of this now.
Sure, it’s cool that they’re adding a job that is so unique in a combat scenario. And yet at the same time, this does intuitively feel like an April’s Fools announcement, just because of how absurd having a Bob Ross on the battlefield is in a lot of ways.
Though compared to the nothingburger that is Viper, this is amazing in that it is something not usually done in MMORPGs.
I was really hoping it would have a two handed giant paint brush with really neat animations with them painting on the ground or dancing around with the brush throwing paint around
Not really my cup of tea but I’m happy for the people that are hyped for this.
Same. Let’s just say that Relm stayed on the airship through my entire FF6 playthrough.
I am probably going to end up picking it up, but more out of principle and less because I am excited to play it. This picture really resonates with me, basically:
Would be super cool if the job was really unique and would splash paint on the battlefield creating special zones. Would be, because it probably won’t have any actually unique mechanics
You mean like a ninja’s doton or a dark knight’s salted earth?
Nah, thats just ground targeted aoe. Im talking something like, creating a blue zone on the ground you can stand in to cast frost spells, a red one for fire, then you could use a ‘mix’ spell to be able to use the zones as a teleport. The possibilities are endless
Kind of like if Ley Lines was tied to your kit then, right?
Something like that, just part of it. Would love if the entire job was focused around using the battlefield as a weapon, but that would nvr work with how the game is designed and people would moan a lot about having to learn something so different from current jobs. My guess is that it will have some spells that ‘store’ colors and a spell that combines the stored colors to do something, like SAM
