10 years ago my wife brought me to NC to visit her best friend. On the 2nd day there her friend took us to a party and introduced us to her best friend.

My wife’s spirit was crushed and she hasn’t forgotten that moment for a second.

I think that’s fine. I have a lot of friends and I doubt I’m any of their “best” friend.

I think it’s okay with being content with who I am to others and I don’t need to be #1 to any of my friends. I’m their “gaming friend”, “drinking friend”, “nerd friend” … I don’t need to be their “best friend”

Worst part about school was learning everyone you thought was your friend only tolerated you because they had no choice and you’re actually unlikable and going to die alone.

Yeah, one of the hardest lessons in life is knowing where to expend your energy and even if you’ve done all you can it still might not be reciprocal.

It’s easiest to tell yourself to love for loves sake but just be careful not to get used.

Ohhh, this is what the BFF matching necklaces are for! And we all thought it was cringe, turns out it was a social confirmation.
