family told FOX 17 News she is showing improvements but is not alert.

She is scheduled to have her brain scan on Friday.

So, I’m all in favor of fighting back against bullying (although any information about who was bullying this poor girl and why is conspicuously absent from this article), and I get that this article is trying to raise awareness of donation efforts to help this family pay for their medical bills (and, like, the fact that this family needs to think through doing a public fundraiser for their daughter’s healthcare is an outrage), but it feels really icky to put her face and name out there without getting her consent.

Also the amount of prayer language in this article is concerning.

Twice… It was mentioned twice as quotes from family.

Yeah, I agree that religion overreaches a lot of the time. But this is just reporting a fact about how the family is coping.

Would any Fox affiliate post a story about one of the many kids who have been bullied to the point of suicide for being gay, or trans, or a person of color?

Is FOX trying to somehow spin a story about Portland Oregon hoping nobody would notice that it’s Portland Tennessee?

This is a local Tennessee TV station.

IDK if you’re American or not, but local US stations, even the Fox affiliates, are usually quite wholesome and nice (often in the face of their Sinclair ownership). They couldn’t be more different than national news channels.

And, naturally, they are a dying breed :(

Point taken, I was confused by the headline and only realized that it was Portland Tennessee when I opened the article.

Local TV in the South US in NOT wholesome. Those political commercials are awful. They are mostly atill owned by the large conglomerates IIRC.
