Love how we’ve tricked everyone into thinking the only way government can influence economy is through interest rate controls. Lol. Lmao even

I remember learning in school so many years ago that governments in the past used to fix economic turmoil by hiring people to build shit. It’s the easiest most obvious solution but society has apparently collectively agreed to forget about it

He can set it to zero and it won’t do shit, since the big issue is tariffs and deportations combined with austerity on real economy. Interest payments on treasuries acts as a stimulus, even if it goes mostly to the rich. Take that away its one source of income for the non-Government sector gone, it’ll slowly go down as newly issued debt pays low interest.

From what I’ve seen on this topic, admittedly not an expert in any way, there’s a huge issue on quality on newly built homes. So severe in fact that new homes that should be equivalent to already built homes are 5-10% cheaper simply because they are new. Basically new homes are built cheap and shit>people get ripped off>people complain>slowly it becomes generally known that new houses will fall apart within 5-10 years regardless of your efforts>demand craters>companies stop or scale back building due to low demand (that they created).

We just can’t do fucking anything right in America lmfao
