Making America great again.
for those trapped in plague nation but with some basic access to healthcare, the ACA requires insurance companies to cover immunizations 100% and more critically, they also cover titre tests to verify immunity still present from prior vaccinations. this also seems to be a thing that insurance companies want to cover, so resistance to coverage is slim.
but anyway, the titre testing: i got my MMR as a little kid, but it’s been decades since. i heard about this test and requested it. it was not ever mentioned by my PCP and since i lived in a part of the US where the cranks can get elected to high office, it seemed like there was a chilling effect on even mentioning vaccine related stuff. so they ran the test on my blood and confirmed my immunity status across the entire schedule but noted my mumps antibodies were no longer present. this is just a thing that can happen over time, and historically hasn’t been a big deal because we used to roll at that 95% vaccination rate as a society.
so they popped me with what i needed and it was all taken care of as part of my routine stuff. so yeah, if you’re already seeing a PCP/PA/APRN bring it up.
Who would have thought!?
