Today I and my dad opened his Christmas beer with rosemary. It is great, lighter for special beer and with notes of rosemary.
This photo is from few weeks ago when I connected with few guys for homemade cider tasting. Mine ciders will be for tomorrow, and all are great.
Enjoying the sahti-stout here alongside the usual Christmas nutritional overload. Pretty soon I’ll run the rest into bottles and free the Kegmenter for next run. For that one I’m looking to adopt some yeast pups from @alzymologist 's selection :)
Rosemary sounds like an awesome addition!
On my end my Christmas specials turned out a bit odd, very little mouth feel and no flavor… It would probably help if the glass wasn’t empty and I actually made something! I’ve been ridiculously busy the last few weeks and haven’t had time to get a brew day in, hoping that changes after the holidays
Ciders and cysers are perfect drinks for Gravmas celebration! Although myself I’m planning citrus melomel for the evening, brings up childhood memories. Tried to share photos of 3x decoction weisen from the eve, but lost fight to foam miserably, for it was not the first bottle for the evening.
My wife said that Christmas specials should be made on Christmas for the next one. Sounds legit. I think that’d be my plan for now.
Why do you think I used few weeks old photo?
(Yeah I had too much of it and realized too late that I should take a photo also it didn’t had a photogenic foam.)
The year wait for Christmas specials is interesting idea, but it should be something that can survive the aging.
Rosemary beer and homemade cider trading both sound awesome!
My kegerator finally crossed the rainbow bridge earlier this month (2018 - 2024) and I am currently in the early stages of building my first keezer, so no Christmas specials for me this year, but half a corny keg of strawberry sour ale is waiting for me to finish that project. After that… I’m not sure yet! But I can’t wait to get back into it after seeing this post. Thanks for sharing.
The rosemary was little happy accident, I was trimming the plant before winter and dad was wondering how it would taste.
It wasn’t trading but tasting, 15 samples of different ciders was too much for me for one evening. I had to change some of mine for the later bottle opened there and I hope I will taste something more today. I was there little bit by accident but I am looking for next year.
