I’m being the most patient of gamers this week and playing WoW Wrath of the Lich King :D

Just got my server set up today. Now I need to set up addons and some playerbots to populate the world. There’s even a client with updated graphics for it which is sick.

After trying quite a few games that I didn’t get on with, I played so much of the Guildrun demo that I got a bit sick of it (it’s really good though).

I’m planning to try the Combolands demo this week too (it’s a roguelike city builder).

A license is ownership. That’s how all software has always worked, same as music and movies.

What remains to be seen is if courts will enforce the ownership in the light of the anti-consumer practices by publishers and developers removing people’s access to that which they have purchased.

Yeah, I think so. I had a backup G600 that replaced my old one a couple of years ago.

I think they discontinued it before then brought it back for a while but looking on Amazon UK it seems unavailable. RIP G600 :(

I find Piper to be excellent though. For my G600 I can control the LEDs, remap the buttons, set the various DPI resolutions and control the report rate. It does everything I used the old Logitech Gaming Software for (fuck Logitech G Hub).

Yep, Piper is what I use with my Logitech G600.

I played it entirely solo and had no issues with the highest difficulty dungeons or world bosses. I imagine it’d be a blast to play with other people but if you start on your own you can create another save slot to play with friends or just use a character you haven’t leveled up yet.

I finished all the achievements on Wayfinder. I really enjoyed it for what it is. It’s clear from some things that they ran out of budget/time to really smooth all the edges. What is there though is a fun action RPG with beautiful art, pretty satisfying progression and combat, and a decent roster of characters to play.

I haven’t been sure what to play next but I just started Clair Obscur Expedition 33. Not sure about the parry/dodge system, it seems pretty anti-fun but I’ll give it a couple more hours.

If that doesn’t work out, I think I’ll start on the Yakuza games. I have Yakuza 0 and Like a Dragon, not sure which I’ll go for first.

Yeah, I went full wireless headphones, keyboard and mouse once upon a time. Then I would have one of them run out of batteries while raiding in WoW or doing WvW in GW2. I went back to wired after that.

I haven’t played any earlier ones as they’re a bit old for my tastes. I’ve completed Ys VIII and played some of Ys IX but couldn’t say much about it. When I searched the same question before I started, the consensus seemed to be start with Ys VIII then Ys IX. The games aren’t in chronological order though so just play what seems interesting.

The newer one, Ys X Nordics, I also haven’t played due to the controversy surrounding it (they released it in Oct 2024 then a couple of months later announced a different version that was released in Feb 2026 with more content and QOL added - if you wanted the update you had to buy the whole game again!).

Can’t say I have a favourite one to play as when I finish one I rarely go back. My favourites that I’ve played so far are Dragon Quest XI, Ys VIII Lacrimosa of Dana and Ruined King.

I reckon they’ll be fine. Crate seems to be a very well run studio that so far (for 18 years) makes pretty sensible decisions.

They have no investors and they self-publish so there’s that too.
