Who thought Food Chain would be okay in Historic in the first place?
Tamiyo still fine in legacy apparently
Pauper / [[Bonder’s Ornament]] possible unban. Bonder’s Ornament is a pet card of mine, goes in almost every Commander deck I run. So I was both surprised and saddened to see it’s banned in Pauper. Was anyone here playing Pauper when this card got banned? I admit I was not, so never saw this in play. But this is one of the few bans that never made sense to me. Reading the notes, it was banned because Uzra-Tron was too powerful. I don’t see it. Best case scenario is you get to draw 1 card on turn 3? I’ve seen Pauper games end before that. Is there some some broken ass combo I’m not seeing?
To be fair, the second reason for banning it is because Bonder’s Ornament wasn’t supposed to be a common, but got shoved into that slot due to the way it was released. That reason makes sense, but that cat’s out of the bag.
Urzatron decks in Pauper often ran lots of Fogs and life gain so they could survive into the late game. They had lots of excess mana and Bonder’s Ornament was by far the most efficient draw engine. They made several hits to the deck due to its dominance but it hasn’t been as good in recent years so it might be able to come off now
